The Louise

Set atop a gentle hill in the Barossa Valley, surrounded by acres of lush vineyards and olive groves, is an idyllic luxury retreat that blends the very best of nature, wine, and food: The Louise. Here, you can indulge in exceptional experiences of comfort and discovery amidst the most renowned and prestigious wine region in South Australia.

The Louise Vineyard

With just 15 gorgeous suites, this bespoke vineyard accommodation is the ideal base from which to enjoy the Barossa and promises a peaceful sanctuary to return to after each day of exploration.

The exquisite Premium Suites at The Louise boast an interior-exterior area of 100-130 sqm, with a private gated courtyard with water feature and a terrace from which to bask in gorgeous vineyard and sunset views. The suites also features a large lounge area and gas log fireplace, as well as a spacious marbled ensuite and a private outdoor rain shower. The Premium Suites come in either a one bedroom configuration (Seppeltsfield Suites) or a two bedroom option (Estate Suites). All bedrooms are fitted with a king-sized bed (twin single bed configuration may be an option) and deluxe linen.

Meanwhile, the Stonewell Suite is a luxury suite that has its own courtyard and terrace, contemporary furnishings, gas log fireplace, an ensuite with spa, and an outdoor rain shower. And the Vineyard Suite is an elegant entry-level suite that also has a private terrace, deluxe amenities, a king bed, and a large spa tub in the bathroom.

All of the suites have a large flat-screen TV with DVD player, BOSE iPod docking station, writing desk with free high-speed internet access, individual espresso coffee makers and tea facilities, and a fully stocked mini-bar and mini-fridge. The large tiled ensuite bathrooms have a spa tub for 2 people, a walk-in rain shower, towel rail heaters, a separate toilet area, and dual vanity basins.

The Louise Living Room

Aside from the luxurious accommodation options, what makes The Louise a preferred luxury destination in South Australia is its renowned onsite restaurant, Appellation. This celebrated world-class dining venue offers the finest in regional cuisine focussed on fresh seasonal ingredients.

Appellation at the Louise

With executive chef Kyle Johns at the helm, Appellation promises a one-of-a-kind dining experience to treasure even after you’ve taken the last bite of dessert or sip of wine. The nightly menu espouses the use of locally sourced produce – in fact, more than 85% of produce is sourced from the restaurant’s kitchen garden and farmers located within a 30-km radius.

The Louise Platting

The daily changing Chef’s Menu is an absolute must-try and, if you like, the Sommelier will make wine-pairing suggestions for each course. Alternatively, peruse the extensive wine list has been awarded numerous times by Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine and has received accolades from Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide and an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator Best.

But if you prefer something lighter and less formal, three75 Bar & Kitchen at The Louise offers an assortment of snacks from burgers and light bites. A range of cocktails and local beers are also available, all of which you can enjoy while taking in the magnificent views of the Barossa.

The Louise Meeting

When you’re ready to explore, The Louise can arrange for a tour around the Barossa to discover local wineries, particularly along Seppeltsfield Road, for an authentic Barossa experience. The valley is also home to a conservation park rich in native flora and fauna where you can view kangaroos and other native wildlife up close and personal. It only takes a 20-minute drive and a 15-minute bushwalk to arrive at the site where you can have a gourmet breakfast picnic while watching the kangaroos in their natural habitat.

The Louise Outdoor

Another enriching endeavour to delight in is the cooking classes at either Food Luddite Kitchen Studio or Casa Carboni Enotica and Cooking School. And if you’re at The Louise on a Saturday, you may have the chance to join the chefs at Appellation during their trip to the famed Barossa Farmer’s Market as they shop for ingredients for the night’s menu.

Other pursuits to do here include taking a dip in the infinity-edge lap pool, hot air ballooning across the region’s vineyards, hiring a bike and cycling along the back roads, or playing tennis at the nearby courts.

The best of luxury, food, and wine all come together at The Louise. Just an hour’s drive from Adelaide, this world-class retreat will take you on a unique journey of gastronomy and indulgence.
