Butterfly season starts around December and is in full swing come January to February. Bring your field notes and cameras—hundreds of these delicate-winged residents of Cardamom National Park flutter in a canvas of colours within the peaceful acacia forests.

From drongos to kingfishers and other migratory aves, Shinta Mani Wild has the honour of being a resting stop for some of the most beautiful tropical winged visitors. Keep your eyes out for the white-eyed Cambodian Laughingthrush and the rare Rusty-naped Pitta that’s often found closer to the mountain peaks.

Mountain Exploration

Depending on the season of your visit, you can go on an Expedition Boat in the river, mountain biking, hiking, and ziplining. The forest gets a bit misty especially around June to July so it makes for a more unique (and chilly) ziplining experience.

Restful sleeps

One of the many special things we love about Shinta Mani Wild is how it has only 15 individually designed tents. This luxurious forest camp offers an intimate retreat into luxury and comfort set against the dramatic backdrop of the river valley. Each tent, a testament to the seven-year meticulous planning and minimal environmental impact, offers guests a secluded haven with breathtaking riverbank views, promising an elevated stay amidst the wild.

The Butterfly Tent

Set at the confluence of two rivers and just below the zip line, the Butterfly Tent (also known as Tent #7) presents a lively and picturesque setting, especially renowned for its butterfly visitors that WILD architect Khun Spot during the camp’s development. Offering spacious living, dining areas, and an outdoor bathtub, it’s a place where luxury, adventure, and the gentle flutter of wings converge to create unforgettable moments of peace and serenity.
